Born, raised, and educated in the south of England, Gordon became interested in the culinary arts at an early age when traveling to France every year with hisfamily.

In addition to summer work on luxury barges touring the wine districts of Burgundy and the Loire Valley, adventures in India, Africa, and Australia led to a successful ten- year career as head chef on a fleet of privately owned sailing and motor yachts in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and North Atlantic.
